This is an egg of the liver fluke Clonorchis sinensis in a trichrome stained preparation. The prominent operculum that produces the shoulders characteristic of eggs of this species is evident.

The knob at the abopercular end is also present. At times this might not be evident.

Ova are best detected in wet-mount preparations, but are frequently seen in the permanent stain.
